This historic and charming Adirondack style Lodge on Lake Dunmore is the real Vermont! It is comfortable for 4 people or 10. It has a well-equipped, eat-in country kitchen (w/ wood stove), a stone fireplace in the living room, a charming dining room that seats 10, and bathrooms on the first floor (half) and second floor (full). The bedrooms (6) have the original pine paneling.
Surrounded by lawn and 6 acres of woods, the Lodge is a 30 second walk to our beach and beautiful Lake Dunmore with views of the Green Mountains across the Lake. Large grassy area for games, a gradual beach, great swimming,boating and fishing (bass, salmon & trout). A canoe, 2 kayaks and rowboat. WIFI too. Ideal for groups of friends or family - rent weekly (or for long weekends). DVD player and wood for the stove provided.
The Lodge is an ideal base for exploring Vt. in the fall. The nearby picturesque towns of Middlebury and Brandon offer good restaurants, bakeries, galleries, antiquing and shopping. A golf course is nearby. Vermont is the center of the artisanal food movement: farmers markets with local produce, cheese trails, orchards, and microbreweries are all close by.
The Lodge is ideal for short day trips to Lake Champlain, Stowe, the Robert Frost Trail, Woodstock, Burlington, and the Shelburne Museum.
Booking now for the Middlebury Graduation and Reunion weekend in May. We have always rented to families attending the graduation--the Lodge is ideal, only 8 miles from Middlebury in a lovely location, and providing a great place for people to gather.
