On 21 secluded acres in Mount Holly. Spectacular mountain views from three decks. Three woodburning stoves, two year round BBQ's... Kayak, canoe and rowboat included for the 100+ acres of Lake Ninevah, a pristine wilderness lake less than 1 mile away. Hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, golf and tennis are all nearby for summer and fall foliage vacations. Ten minutes to Okemo and about half an hour to Killington or Bromley. Local x-country ski and snowmobile trails abound.
LESS THAN THREE HOURS FROM BOSTON and LESS THAN FIVE HOURS FROM NEW YORK CITY note: the "Ethan Allan Express" on Amtrack runs daily from Penn Station to Rutland, Vermont, just 20 miles from the house.
A perfect size group would be anywhere from just one couple up to two or three adult couples with maybe up to five or six little ones.
There are only two "conventional" bedrooms in this log vacation home. One is part of a self contained (but included in your rental) "mother-in-law apartment" on the lower level. There is also an enclosed queen size sleeping loft...and a small additional queen bedroom that we call "the cave"...because the roof of the house slopes down into it...kind of like sleeping in the cabin of a boat...minus the motion of the ocean.
Plus plenty of extra futons and sleeping nooks!

This all season log vacation home is available year round. Non-holiday rates are $975 per week in summer and $975 per weekend in winter. Holiday rates vary and are available upon request. Other than the 9% "Meals and Rooms Tax" imposed by the State of Vermont (which applies to all rentals under 31 days) and a fully refundable security/cleaning deposit (usually $200), there are no hidden costs or extra charges of any kind. Sheets and towels are furnished, snowplowing and sanding of the driveway in winter and year round utilities (including propane filled BBQ tanks), fully loaded satellite dish, high speed internet connection, firewood and trash pick-up are all included in the rental fee.
