VermontProperty.com is operated by Vermont Property Publishing, Inc., a family-owned and operated business based in Montpelier, Vermont. It is the largest — and we believe the best — Vermont-only vacation rental site on the web.
We entered the vacation rental business when we assumed publication of a printed vacation rental booklet from the state of Vermont in 1989. The booklet, called Vermont Four Season Vacation Rentals, had been published by the state for many decades.
In 1996, we began our VermontProperty.com website to list Vermont vacation rental ads, and later stopped publishing the printed booklet because the web ads reached far more people, could include more photos and information, and could be changed whenever needed. Our site has continued to grow tremendously over the years and seems to serve both renters and advertisers well.
The webmaster of this site is Fran Dodd, a studio art major at Smith College, who has been working full-time for VermontProperty.com since 1998. Fran also holds a masters degree from George Washington University.
Her husband, Phil Dodd, helps out with the site and also publishes a newsletter about Vermont and Vermont real estate called Vermont Property Owners Report (to find out more about the newsletter, go to www.vermontrealestatetoday.com). Phil is a graduate of Williams College and Vermont Law School.
Phil and Fran have lived in Montpelier since 1979. They enjoy skiing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, and sailing in Vermont’s mountains and lakes.
