Since 1996, VermontProperty.com has served as one of the most popular and well respected websites for Vermont vacation rentals. Its mission is to deliver a quality product with personal service so visitors can benefit from a truly local experience. Originally owned and operated by Phil and Frances Dodd of Vermont Property Publishing in Montpelier, VermontProperty.com continues to be a familyrun business managed by Chris and Carole Lang of Vermont Supply LLC located in Norwich, Vermont.

Chris grew up in Woodstock and has spent most of his life living in Vermont. He holds a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern. In addition to managing daily operations for VermontProperty.com, he is a Vermont licensed real estate broker who understands how to use vacation rentals as a tool to lower the cost of secondhome ownership.

Carole is originally from Arkansas, has a BS from the University of Arkansas and loves to ski hence her desire to be a "Vermonter." She is more behind the scenes, focusing on how to promote the site by leveraging her background in sales and marketing.

History

1989 — The Dodds entered the vacation rental business when they assumed publication of a booklet called Vermont Four Season Vacation Rentals. Prior to that, the booklet had been published by the state of Vermont for many decades.

1996 — The Dodds launch VermontProperty.com to list Vermont vacation rental ads.

2002 — The Dodds stopped publishing the printed booklet because the web ads reached far more people.

2008 — The Dodds relaunch an entirely new version of VermontProperty.com, professionally developed by Bluehouse Group of Richmond, Vermont.

2012 — Vermont Supply LLC acquires VermontProperty.com. The Dodds continue to publish their newsletter about Vermont real estate called Vermont Property Owners Report (see www.vermontrealestatetoday.com).
