Charming cottage in a pretty wooded setting right on Lake Dunmore on the quieter, south end of the Lake. Wonderful in the fall for "leaf peeping" on your doorstep: beautiful views of the colors in the Green Mountain National Forest right across the Lake. Cozy living room w/a wood stove (wood provided) which warms the whole cottage. For warmer days, large, comfortable screened porch for dining and lounging. Two bedrooms – one with queen bed, one with twin beds – sleeps 4. Amenities include up-dated kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, etc. provided; BBQ grill; DVD. Gentle beach, large grassy lawn for sunbathing or games. Swim raft, wo canoes and rowboat. The best swimming! Hiking, biking, and fishing. Includes great outdoor shower. No smoking. Pets: 1 dog is permitted.
The nearby picturesque towns of Middlebury and Brandon offer good restaurants, bakeries, galleries, antiquing, and shopping. A golf course is nearby. Vermont is the center of the artisanal food movement: farmer's markets, cheese trails, orchards, berry picking, and microbreweries are all close by.
Lots of hiking nearby on the Long Trail. The cottage is a great base for day trips to Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain, Stowe, Burlington, Fort Ticonderoga, the Adirondacks and lots more.
$700/week, plus 9% VT rooms tax in Oct.
