This rustic lodge in Benson sits directly on Sunset Lake, officially the cleanest lake in Vermont. The lodge, located on a two+ acre wooded lot at the end of a private driveway, has two bedrooms with a double bed in each, plus a daybed in the living area. The detached bunkhouse sleeps 4 in bunk beds . The lodge contains a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, range, and refrigerator.
The living area has a functional fireplace and comfortable furniture plus a dining table with six chairs. The screened porch looks out to the attached deck overlooking the lake. Meals can be taken on the screened porch at fold-down tables looking directly at the water. The 200 acre lake is perfect for swimming, canoeing, fishing and kayaking. A row boat is included.
This property has a private boat dock. Benson is located just 30 minutes south of Middlebury, 40 minutes west of Rutland, 20 minutes north of Fair Haven, and one hour south of Burlington. Hiking, antiquing, fine or casual dining, and shopping are all within minutes, yet the lodge is located in a very quiet, peaceful setting on the lake. Other homes are within a short walk, but one can spend the whole week reading, listening to music, and resting without interruption. There is no telephone, television or internet connection in the lodge! This is where one comes to unwind and renew.
The rate is $1200. per week. The first $500. in rental fees is required at the time of reservation. A security deposit of $250. is required upon taking occupancy and will be refunded at the end of the stay if no damages are found. In addition, there is a $75. cleaning fee plus Vt. state rooms tax of 9%.
If the reservation is cancelled at least two weeks before the reservation begins, a full refund will be given. Beginning on the day of the stay, there is no refund on monies paid except the $250. security deposit if there are no damages. There is a one-week minimum stay.
